How can geophysics help you?

Geophysical techniques represent a suite of sophisticated tools that can be used to map the physical and chemical properties of the ground.

Compared with conventional, invasive methods of site investigation, such as boreholes and trial pits, geophysical methods enable complete site coverage with a far-greater sampling frequency, improving the likelihood of locating targets. Importantly, most geophysical techniques are non-invasive and environmentally benign, enabling them to be used in situations where direct methods are less appropriate, such as on heavily contaminated sites.

When correctly specified and integrated within a phased site investigation programme, geophysical surveys allow subsequent investigations to be targeted on areas of extreme ground conditions. This can lower your overall costs as fewer (more representative) boreholes or trial pits are required. A more-realistic and representative model of the ground may be produced, reducing your exposure to risks.

INDEPENDENCE, OBJECTIVITY – CONSULTANCY

Unlike other geophysical service providers, we are totally independent of the contracting base. We can provide totally unbiased and independent advice about the usefulness and benefits of geophysics on a site. We are free to select the most appropriate geophysical contractor(s) for a job in order to provide the highest-quality data possible and the most applicable results. Our approach to data analysis includes the collation of geophysical results with other geological, environmental and geotechnical information, where appropriate, to produce a holistic and thorough interpretation.
